It was flashing around corners because there is a sensor in the overflow
tank which notes when the coolant level drops below a given point. It
flashes, obviously, to alert you to a low coolant level. If you fill it up
and the light quits for awhile, but then flashes after several days or
weeks, then you know you have a small, slow leak.

Been there, done that. It ain't happening no more!!
