Re: H4 wiring

I believe only the rectangular european replacement lights (4"x6" and
6"x7") require the adapters. I remember when I replaced the 5 3/4" inch
diameter headlights on my 81 Scirocco, oh about 15 years ago, it was a
straight plug in. This was the case with both Cibie and Hella lights.
Therefore, I was surprised when I went to install 4"x6" Hella lights on
another car years later that they came with an adapter.

Consensus appears to be round lights, 5 3/4" and 7" - straight plug in.
Square lights, 4"x6" and 6"x7" - need adapter (though I have no
experience on the 6"x7" size). As to why? I'm sure its got to do with
some idiotic U.S. regulation.

As for where to get them, Imparts sells Hellas for $78 a pair, and I
think Automotive Performance Systems (VW/Honda tuner) might have them
for a little less, though Imparts has a pretty good shipping deal - only
$3.50 per order.
