Hydraulic pump repairs

My 87 5kCSTQ has finally developed the dreaded pentosin leak. 
I've saved posts from a lot of listers about rebuilding the pump
with the O-ring set from Carlsen.  My question is whether these
repairs last as well as a rebuilt pump in the long term.  If any of
you have had self-rebuilt pumps last more than two years,
please let me know in private email.
