Scratched Glass repair

The side window of my A4 has minor scratches from a "slimjim", a
metal strap used to get into my locked car.

I called a few glass shops in my area and most said that they won't
buff-out thin, tempered glass used in side windows.  I found one or
two that will.

Does anyone have any opinion on this?  I don't want to replace the
glass for many reasons.  Can anyone recommend a good glass place in
the Boston, MA area?
