CPA Motorcars

I am a happy one-time customer of CPA.  Spent  several evenings hanging
around Bob's shop in Northridge (which is in SoCal, by the way, the San
Fernando Valley to be specific, a long way from Lake Tahoe).  Bob let me
test drive a couple of cars, alone, which is quite a thing in LA.  I
ultimately convinced him to sell me my current '87 GT which he had
intended to keep as his own.  He purchased it at auction in NY, it had a
frozen rear caliper which he replaced himself while I was there and
helping.  He also replaced both sets of rear wheel bearings while he was
at it.  Since this was to be his driver he had purchased all new
headlight assemblies, lenses, and reflectors since the ones on the car
were pitted.  He sold these items to me at his cost and installed them
for me again, while I watched.  He informed me the car had a leaky valve
cover gasket and insisted on changing it before I picked up the car.  In
summary I was very impressed.  My GT has performed nearly flawlessly
needing few repairs.

Shortly after buying the car I moved to Dallas, so had no contact with
him until recently.  I too saw his ad in the Quattro Quarterly, though I
didn't recognize it as his.  When I was considering the purchase of my
wagon, I called the number and recognized the voice on the answering
machine.  I finally caught up with him a week or so later and reminded
him of our transaction 5 years ago, which he remembered.  I asked him
about wagons and he educated me on the rarity of the '91 200qw.  His
stock turns over fast and he had no wagons then and hadn't seen a '91 qw
in over a year.  This helped me make my decision.  He told me about his
new showroom in Tahoe and plans to keep the one in LA.  Based on my
direct experience, and the fact that he is still in business and doing
well, I'd say he's a reliable source of used Audi's.  I'll probably pay
him a visit at Xmas when I'll be trying tro brainwash my Mom in the an
Audi.
