Yup.  Thanks, I knew that smelled fishy when I wrote it!  

But, re: redeposition, how can the re-evaporation at the quartz *and* the re
-deposition at the filament *both* be endothermic reactions?  Not
disagreeing here, I just don't see the condensate accruing more readily to a
higher temperature substrate.  Just send me to the library if you want,
since the bulb life shortening due to occasional low voltage operation is
moot and after everyone else's final comment this thread will be over.
