Subject: CAT light flashing in V8
Driving my 90 V8 through last Saturday night's heavy wet snowstorm, I
drove over a downed tree branch that I never saw under the snowy goop.
The CAT light immediately began flashing. I removed a good sized
chunk of tree limb stuck between the underbody cross brace and the
exhaust pipes, but couldn't find anything else amiss under the car.
The flashing light allegedly means the catalytic converter is
overheated, but it flashes as soon as the car is started after sitting
in the cold for 24 hours. Any ideas out there about what broken wire
or mashed/disconnected item under the car would cause this?
