If they're rubbing on the inside, this is more NEGATIVE offset not positive
... FWIW, on my '89 200q, there's about 3/8" or so between the steering arm
and tire using 33mm offset 8x17s with 215/45-17 Comp TAs. There is probably
enough room to fit a 225/45 (or even a 235/45, if you're lucky) and when I
wear out these tires, I'm going to give it a shot.
