A4Q Redline Kill Switch "Feature"

Last night I had an interesting experience while merging with highway
rush-hour traffic. I thought I'd open up the engine up to get some pickup.
I was in 2nd gear and I floored the pedal while entering the highway to get
up to speed. The acceleration was great until the RPMs hit 6100. The engine
killed all power, almost sending my head into the windshield and my car
into someones front bumper. I didn't think that feature would engage until
6800-7000. I'm not too excited about this feature. I understand its intent
but it could be a real danger when your not expecting it.
