Sure won't.  Look forward to seeing Eric (et al) on the trip, if we make it.

In practical terms, it's a lot easier now lead-free petrol is freely available.
 
USA-plated cars were a pretty common sight in Germany, though the vast majority 
were associated with the Forces' presence.  The red tape is pretty similar in 
some ways.
 
Note that, in most of Europe, if your car is wrecked or stolen you are treated 
as having "imported" it and will have to pay duties and taxes on the (perhaps 
missing) vehicle.  A bond against this is essential.
