I believe there was some discussions here about the motion detector before.
 Seems like it is sound level based detection.  It senses the noise at
activation and if it is a certain dB above that, the alarm goes off.  Someone
says something about taping up the sensor, activates alarm, tear off the tape
and it will trigger.  

On phone hook up, some one here did it successfully with a Motorola MicroTAC
with a Motorola 3W booster/adapter unit.
