Re: wagon news from a sales rep
It's hard for me to believe too. In Seattle I've seen as many late model
92' and newer 100/A6 wagons as sedans. They're probably be crazy if they
decided to offer just the A4 wagon. The only reason I can see is the
price differential between the A4 and A6 wagons i.e. if they are
very close in price then they might think that they are going to shoot
themselves in the foot. Sort of like they decided not to import the
S6 plus(the A6 with the 4.2 V8) to compete with their own V8.
It is a situation very similar to BMWs probably no body in this group
care much to discuss about. They also have a 3 series wagon in Europe
which never came to the US. They only imported the 5 series wagons and I
guess it's also due to the price differential of the two models. In
Europe most german cars has a lot engine option that are never available
in the US. Have you ever seen a BMW 316 or 518? If they can offer that
range of engine and trim level option as well as a market has enough
demand then they would do that but I think Audi's market share is still
not as big as other cars brand.
