One for the Brains Trust
Here's a good one. Why does engaging the differential lock on my car
automatically disable ABS?
On the TORSENs, the only lockable differential is the rear one. This
effectively turns the rear into a solid axle - leaving the centre TORSEN and
the front unlocked.
I could understand ABS being disabled if it worked on a wheel-by-wheel basis.
But on the 1988 MB there is only one channel for the back axle.
Why should it make any different to the ABS if the diff is locked?
