Re: DISagree WIth Bob here...

In a note dated 1/2/97, Ti Kan writes;

ovloV. >It's that image thing.

Living in the same part of the country as Ti does, I concur...wmb-no way!!!
This is coming from someone whose first car was a '70 1600, who apprenticed
at a wmb dealership way back when, who owned more of them (all old ones!)
than I can remember before they became the under-engineered yuppified status
symbles they are today. I begrudgingly admit to owning a ovlov...but only
because it was the best and safest 7 seat "mommiewagon" available on the used
(cheap) market, you want to talk electrical problems!!!??? It Makes Audi's
electrics look GREAT!!! I became "Audi aware" for two reasons; 1) quattro
domination of the world rally scene in the early '80's. 2) My then P-car
mechanic buddy had an '86 Coupe GT and always raved that I should wake up to
Audi's (still had a bad taste in my mouth from the '70's abominations the
sent over here).

To give Bob some due credit here though...today's car market is truly global.
Today, there are many fine cars produced all over the world. I am a quattro
fanatic first!!! Though not given that option, I would be very open minded in
my search for "that perfect ride"...That said, having now owned 5 Audis and
being happy with all of them (though slightly disapointed with the 88 80q),
Audis will always be considored-but without q? Yes, but with an open mind to
others as well. Thankfuly there are quattros...and I will own at least one
for as long as I can drive!
