Here is my experience. I fitted mine into the bumper. Had my dealer give me a
fixed quote fo t/f them from my 4000 when I traded in on the 100. They did not
know what they were letting themselves in for. I paid $100, they took 7 hours
to fit, but a very nice job.

I also did the fog lamp switch thing, but I am told that I cannot get power
onto the tell tale light that comes on with the instrument lights. Aapparently,
Audi never provided for a switch to be lighted in that position. All my blanks
now have switches, but this is the only one that is dark at night until I
switch the lights on, then I get the green lamp indication.

Mine are wired for side lamps and low beams, and I have the Euros with 130w for
high beams.

Thanks for your perspective, the toggle bolt was a great idea which neither
ocurred to me or my dealer.
