If it wasn't a Quattro,(Un) Intended Acceleration, et al

While pondering the question of whether I would have bought my '86 4kcsq if
it wasn't a Q and how I couldn't have afforded it in the first place were it
not for the whole UA debacle, a different thought came to mind...

How many of us have subsequently  bought new Audis, or hope to soon in my
case, as a result of first being introduced to this fine marque by the
ridiculously low prices of the used ones?

Maybe this is AoA's consolation prize for surviving the lean years and part
of the explanation of their recent turnaround here in the States?
