brain surgury.

I called Roger, the guy that does all my audio work, to ask him about your
problem.  
He said if the whine varies with the engine speed, it could very well be a
grounding problem, or a shaved wire that is touching some metal.

He recommended taking your coupe to a reputable car audio specialty shop and
have them look it over.  It may cost you a few dollars, but I wouldn't want
to disconnect the amp.
