I actually went out and measured the bar sizes on my 1996 A4 quattro V6.
The front bar is 29mm, and the rear bar is 12mm.

Due to different engine weight, the suspension calibration (such as
spring rate, shock valving and bar size) will likely to be different
between the 2.8 V6 cars and the 1.8T.  Also, I don't know whether you drove
quattros in both cases.  The FWD A4s have a completely different rear
suspension than the Qs, and even the front calibration may be different.

That 29mm front bar is STOUT.
