     I just picked up on this thread.  My 86 Coupe was doing the same 
     recently.  Started good, idled okay and cruised okay.  But it 
     stuttered real bad on accelleration.  I did all the standard stuff, 
     new plugs, cap, rotor, wires (all overdue anyway) and looked for 
     vacuum leaks on the manifold (the usual suspects!).  NOthing!  While 
     replacing the no. 5 plug I had to move the crankcase vent tube to get 
     to it.  When I touched the tube the 3 in. rubber hose connecting it to 
     the crankcase vent just disentegrated.  It was the consistancy of 
     silly putty.  I replace it with a section of 3/4" hose and everything 
     works again.
