Radiators 101

In an effort to keep the black beasts cool once it is done, I need some
help understanding radiators.

I am looking at a Griffin Alu. rad., but I have the option of 1in tubes
or 1.25in tubes. Now, I understand that the larger tubes will allow for
more capacity in the core of the rad. itself, but wouldn't it be
adventagous to keep the tubes smaller and thus keeping the water in the
Rad. for a longer time. Perhaps the increased capacity of the larger tubes
would compensate for the lost time spent in the rad.?

Actually, what I am getting at, is the fact that I am completely lost
and I have NO idea as to what I am talking about! What am I going to gain
or lose by going to the larger core tubes? Please help! Any input is
greatly appreciated.
