Re: Gee forces

In a message dated 97-01-10 10:36:25 EST, you write:

<< Science "is not rocket science"! For the past 5 years I
swapped into Cellular Telephony (you know ... car phones
& stuff) developing the infrastructure equipment (the cell
radio system). Contrary to what you might believe, the
complexity and technology in that is at least 10 times greater
than anything in satellites (at least apart from the materials
science). The computers used in the Shuttle are 30yr old
 technology! >>
And I have a brother that works for Motorola who says the same thing... So,
a rephrase would be, "It's not cellular science" more appropriate... Though
I might venture an argument that you can't have cellular science without the
rocket science.... My vision of rocket science is a bunch of pocket
protector white shirts, and loud wide ties, with short hair and thick glasses
sitting at a row of desks figgring how to launch projectiles in the direction
they want based on gravitational forces calculated via a slide rule and
paper.... For that vision, I remain with the statement:
It ain't rocket science....
