RE: Help: Buying 1986 4kCSQ
Mostly the usually like brakes, ac, door handles, exhoust$, suspension ect....
Try taking it out on an uneven dirt road and slowly drive over with the
windows open. You want to listen for klunks, because that seems to be a
regular problem with these cars. As far as the Quattro goes just turn the
diff lock knob to its perspective positions and the lights will light
corresponding to locking. If they are not operating (unlikely) the lights
will probably not light. Listen to the engine running for any ticking or
other noises. Sounds like a good deal to me if everything checks out.
GET IT CHECKED OUT BY A QUALIFIED MECHANIC BEFORE BUYING. It will save you
allot of money in the long run. When I bought my car my mechanic found
several problem areas that I used to negotiate and took into account before I
bought it. But for that price you dont have much to bargain with.

About a week ago, I posted the OKC Audi listings from the paper. Included
was the following car:
>**'86 4000CS Quattro, 5 cyl., 5 speed, AC, sunroof, loaded, exc. mech.
cond., >$2750 obo (405) 677-4500
I'm thinking of going to look at it this week and possibly replacing my 83
4000s4e with this one. Can anyone please give me some tips to look for?
How do I insure the Quattro is operating properly? Other suggestions? I
called last week and the car has 130k miles, but it supposedly in great
shape. Is this a good deal?
Thanks in advance for all your help.
