RE: A4Q, which engine? 1.8T or 2.8



Depends on what you want.

The 2.8 is superbly smooth and provides decent off-the-line power with
excellent power once on the move. It's also available with OE leather,
which the 1.8 is not.

The 1.8 is not far off in smoothness, well down on power (but due to the
gearing is not far off in performance), but also weighs about 50lbs (I
think) less. It's cheaper and comes in different equipment
configurations. It's also the only one you can really modify for more
performance and the only one to have the Sport package (16" wheels (same
as 2.8 wheels), sport steering wheel (also avail. on 2.8) and "jacquard
weave" cloth sport seats (not available on the 2.8)).

It's your call, but I'd take the 1.8 based on the availability of the
sport seats, engine upgradability, mileage and the cool 5-valve design.
Oh, and price.
