This may be a naive question (and I'm sure if it is, someone will point this out immediately), but why wouldn't you go with a remanufactured half-shaft?  At approx $120 US and a lifetime guarantee, it seems like a easy choice, especially given the ease with which you can replace the entire shaft.  What am I missing here?
