97 A4Q Specifications

I currently own a 1997 2.8 A4Q 5 speed and was wondering if anyone can give
me clarification on some of my questions. As the dealer has no clue and
the service manager is only interested in American cars and not European
cars.

Well here I go:

1) What should the oil temp be when running between 75-80mph for approx.
35-40min? My oil temp gets to 250 degrees down here in Florida (outside
temp is: 75 degrees F.). Is the normal?

2) At 80mph, in 5 gear, how many rpms should I be turning? My tac say about
3,500.

3) Do other A4Q 5 speed owners feel that the gear box is a little notchy?
When shifting from 2nd into 3rd between 3,000 and 4,000 rpm it feels like
I'm hitting a tooth on a gear. But when shifting above or below this rpm
it does not happen.

4) When the engine is cold and I shift at 3,500 rpm from 3rd into 4th,
sometimes I get a little bit of jitter or stutter when leaving the clutch
out in 4th then accelerating at 1/2 throttle (this has to be done somewhat
quick in order for the jitter to appear). It almost feels like the clutch
is slipping just a little bit. But, I have revved to 5,000 rpm, and the
problem does not appear. Is this just the normal temperament of the
Quattro?

5) When cursing in 4th or 5th gear at approx. 3,000rpm or below and I lift
my foot off the accelerator, I get some or bucking or backdating? I am
assuming it is from the all wheel drive and the weight of the car.

6) After driving the car for about 15-20 min. and parking it for about 1
hour. Then starting the car again, I hear this gargling sound coming from
the right rear of the car. It last for about 10-20 seconds. The fuel
filler neck is the only thing on that side of the car. I can't, for the
life of me, figure out what the heck this sound is. It only happens when
the car is warm, then sits for about 1 hour, then starts back up again.
Does anyone have this sound? And should I have a dealer look into it? I'm
kind of nervous about the dealer looking at the car. They can really screw
things up.

Well I'm hoping that someone can help me out here. Thanks in advance to
all that want to contribute.
