Might modify that to be 2 wheel drive with a LSD..... Given the number of
torsen diff applications appearing in stock rwd cars.... A gen I open diff
car is the same as a rwd open diff car.... A gen I open diff car locked at
50/50 is 2 drive wheels, so is a rwd LSD car, the real advantage becomes
where the wheel is located, and the activation of the rear locking diff, then
you have 3 wheels driving.... Tho hardly a "dry condition" argument... And
I find the locking of the center (gen I) not a dry condition argument either,
cuz the understeer in that mode really out weighs the gains in traction.....
Understanding the quattro system is key to understanding it's limits and
advantages, IMO unless you are at the 300hp mark, a VERY hard argument in dry
conditions, and nearly impossible to prove, esp in a torsen car.... I argue
that awd in dry raises the effortless driving threshold, a big difference
between that and the loop to at the limit performance....
