From what I understand (not stating this as fact) the newer simpler awd
system in the current C4 and Turbo is very similar to the Syncro system.
Porsche had another awd system on the original 911 Carrera 4 and I thin it
was more akin to quattro.
What they found (they being auto mags and Porsche too) is that the Syncro
style awd was better for seat of your pants driving (rwd biased porsches)
than was the quattro, for the precise reason audi's have found criticism.
Is all of this true. I'm sure there are more knowlegeable listers out
there than I. Also does this make the syncro A3 better set for high
performance than does the quattro A4.
