Re: Headlight washers

Mine's ('92 S4) doing the same thing and from the dealer's comment it's
relatively common.

Their repair strategy is replacement: ~$70 US for the part, 2-4 hrs labor,
but I get conflicting reports on that one. One mech said it had to be
removed by coming in from under the car, another said you could do it from
the top, with some maneuvering. They said it was only 2 or 3 screws to
remove, I don't remember which and it's frankly been too cold to worry about
it since the problem occurred. A warm-up project.

So far, no one has been able to suggest a proven repair for the crack. It
seems to come from the curve in the filler neck. Any repair solutions
appreciated though.

Good luck.
