upcoming airbag features

The following question was e-mailed to my website.  Does anybody have
the scoop on this?

I am trying to confirm the news I keep reading about side airbags and
Audis.
One article I read said that the mid year model A4 2.8 will have side
airbags.  Another article said that all Audis except the Cabriolet will
have
side airbags in 1998.  I have called and e-mailed Audi, but have gotten
no
information to either confirm nor deny the rumors.  If you can help me,
I
would greatly appreciate it.  I expect to buy a 1.8T in the very near
future, but would wait if side airbags become available.  Thank you.
