Hi Jon,
I am using #D572 Deutsch Precision oil filter for my 96 2.8 A4Q. They
can be purchased at your local Auto Zone store for around $5 each. I
have 5K miles and have changed my oil twice using this filter. It has
anti-drain back and bypass features and is well built with heavy duty
construction and quality filter media.
