I know that Subaru's of the '87 vintage had just such a thing. It was an
on-demand AWD, and when you went into AWD it would raise the car by 5 inches.
I had a neighbor with one and she let me play with it a bit. There was
also a button that would allow you to lock it in there.
My '86 Subaru didn't have it (but they have lots of clearance anyway), but
I could certainly see having it in an Audi. You know, some of those
tweeked up Audis look pretty nice, but they're usually lowered with a
air dam in the front -- they'd suck in the snow...
