Re: 97 A4Q trailer hitch

Hi,

Sorry that I'm slow in replying, but I'm working my way through tons of
digests. Boy, this list is *busy*...

Tow hitches are very common here in Holland. Most are made to fit behind
the bumper so don't lose you any ground clearance. My 80 has a tow hich
that protrudes no more than 2in below the car (less than the exhaust system
actually).

Hmmm... smells like bullsh*t. Most cars (my Audi included) have an unused
connector for this in the trunk, and the loom for the hitch just plugs into
this if it's a standard one. Fitting time: .5 hours, the only difficulty
being the rear bumper that has to be removed. YMMV though: I'm not famliar
with US market cars.
This thing makes a great 'idiot bumper' BTW: if some fool rear-ends you,
*he's* got the damage, and you've got to straighten your tow hitch cap :-)
BTDT could write the stories...

Bye,
