      POLICE DROP OVERACTIVE SPEED CAMERAS
Several police forces have taken speed
cameras out of action because they
cannot cope with the additional work
      they generate.

      The Association of Chief Police
Officers told the BBC many forces were
      overwhelmed with speeding offences.

Forces did not have the personnel to
      process the fines, it said.

A national survey says people caught
speeding by a fixed camera have only a
      one-in-eight chance of being fined.
