[Real] Euros in the rain

In Glossop they say: "If you can see the hills, it's going to rain. If
you can't see the hills, it's raining."

I went to a presentation by Sterling Software, a computer company, at
the Granada Studios in Manchester, and decided to visit some friends
in Sheffield on the way back south. So I set out for Glossop to pick
up the A57 across the moors (the Snake Pass, of course). I _hammered_
up the hill out of Glossop, overtaking three or four cars at once.
There was a sports car in front, but he was only managing two cars at
once. I caught him just west of the Snake Inn, and chased him halfway
down to Bamford. It was a Ferrari 328GTB, and try as he might he
couldn't dislodge the ur-quattro. He eventually gave up on the long
straight just as Ladybower comes into view, and waved me past.

(For those that don't know the area, Ladybower is the reservoir and
dam that features as the practice site in the old black and white
 "Dambusters" film.)
