You have to input a 4-digit "security" number; either one you invented
yourself and originally coded the radio with (early cars; before approx.
mid '89 I believe) or else one that came with the unit (later cars).
if you don't have the no., I believe you have to make a trip to a dealer
to decode it. I believe this is a few minute job, so it shouldn't cost
too much.
This is assuming you don't have a Bose unit; if you do, I don't know
what you do except also go back to the dealer.
