Sal,

It does indeed sound like your Bowden cable is stuck. My car
did this for the last year, and a couple weeks ago, it really screwed up
- the cable actually bent, so now its really stuck on MAX hot!

Anyway, open your glove box and look up above the glove box, a
littel towards the outboard side. You'll see a black box about 6" square
by a couple inches thick, with a wiring harness, a bunch of vacuum lines,
and a cable that looks like a bicycle brake cable coming out of it.
That's your "Programmer." You'll see that the little lever that actuates
the cable (this is the Bowden cable BTW) will be pointing towards the
right rear wheel. This is the full hot temp door position. You might be
able to give that a push to make it go back to the cold side. Then it
should control the temperature just fine until the next time it cycles to
full hot. The cables get a little bit kinked, and then they seem to work
fine in the intermediate positions, but they stick whenever they go to
full hot.

The Bowden cable is less than 10 bucks (I bought one) and it
looks like it isn't too bad to install (I haven't done it yet - too many
more pressing needs - like an exhaust system!)

If this is not what you find, then you have another problem,
about which I know nothing. :-) Sorry.

HTH BTW, I thought about direct emailing this one, but there hasn't
been much discussion about this (at least that I read) so I thought it
might be relevant to the rest of you...
