That would be bad for a backstreet garage - it is unbelievable for a 
dealership.  Even idiots know how important the rear toe is to quattros.

p.s. I adjusted the tracking on my q using some cheap and cheerful tracking 
gauges.  The results were excellent, so I haven't bothered to get an optical 
alignment.  I had to exert all my strength to loosen the rear track rods 
(and I am a fairly well-built chap!).  BRM who set up the tracking for me a 
couple of years ago told me that they took the rear suspension off the car 
because the tie rods were rusted solid and that was the only way they could 
get at them to free them.
