RE: Knock Sensor

labor just for them trying to figure out what was wrong with it. Also, on the
way home I notice one of my seats had been gouged by a careless
mechanic.<snip>
Mike, I can't comment on the diagnosis as my experience in FI troubleshhoting
is based on the Bentley manual and this list-this list has much better
experts than I in that regard. However, regarding the $150.00 "diagnostic"
bill and the gouged seat...check into the consumer protection laws in your
state regarding automotive repair. Here in CA. if you did not authorize an
estimate or charges up front, you don't have a legal obligation to pay (I'm
not a lawyer though FWIW). Additionaly, you should "slap them with a bill"
for a new seat cover in return for your (apparently) unauthorized repair, 'er
diagnosis, charges. Perhaps a lister in your area can refer you to a more
professional operation in your area to complete the repairs? HTH...and Good
Luck!
