The European A4 has the new 30 valve 2.8 litre engine which produces 193 hp/
207 lb-ft torque.  Indeed it is more "powerful and efficient".  The U.S is
supposed to get the 30 valver by this coming Fall.  I have heard that Audi
had problems with the timing chain breaking (due to the increased stress of
 5 valves/cylinder) and wanted to fix this problem before sending the engine
here.
