Ya know, I saw something awhile back about hunting for oil leaks;can't
remember where I saw it.  (mebbe it was the SAE mag, or could have been
one of the truck fleet maintenance trade journals I get)

Anyway, it was an additive you dump in the oil & causes it to fluoresce.
You clean things up, run the engine in darkness & use a black light. 
Leaks show up "glowing brightly".  (don't know what ill effects might be
caused by the additive!)
