Re: hydraulic pump blues

Mike,
Thanks,
I bled the pump on the car yesterday, so far OK, I still reserve judgment
because I have not driven it long distance in sustained 3K+ RPM (that is
when the overflow happens). If I rev up the engine the Pentosin is churning
(irrigation effect) but so far have not exceeded the full mark on the
reservoir, will see...
What puzzles me is the fact that I have done 4 pumps without a problem..
The other factor is the irrigation effect DID NOT happen after changing a
pump, it happened "out of the blue". I did run a series of hyd. pump tests
(which led me to replacing the hyd. acc.) and maybe some hose is sucking
air somehow. I also found out that the pressure sending unit (in the back
of the master cylinder was not as snug as it should be). BTW I did not know
that the car will not run without the pressure switch plugged in (will run
with one connector unplugged but not both disconnected!).
Will keep you updated,
Avi Meron
