Hi Matt,
If you are going to have the head off anyway this may be a good time to
replace lifters if they are noisy...and the last time I talked to Ivor at
TAP(Total Audi Performance) he and some cam grinder were working on a cam just
for the turbo'd motors(10V). Many folks use the asymetric(sp?) generic
hi-performance grind cam for both NA and turbo'd motors, but I believe a
turbo'd motor has different breathing requirements and that they can benefit
from a cam that's specifically designed for them. I do not have TAP's number
here and can't remember the name...oh yes I can; Schrick makes the asymetric
cam. New valve guides, valve seats and valve job, if time and moola permit,
couldn't hurt either. Neither would a new timing belt, water pump and idler
pulley as long as you're in there:-) Just some thoughts...
