5KCSTQ - Rust
All:
I've got some rust of all places on the inside of the front roof pillar.
It's that little space that the rubber gasket presses up against the
pillar. Not much space to work in.
Any thoughts on how to clean it up short of taking the windshield out?
I know this would be optimal but...
Has anybody used the liquid that supposedly turns rust into an inert
black mass? Will it turn the rubber gasket into same? How about a
Dremel to clean it up some? If I gouge the gasket a bit on the outside
will I see water on the inside?
Were only the body panels galvanized and other structural members not
on the 5K series? Mine is an '86. Not a spot of rust except in this
out of the way place.
TIA,
Mark Pollan, 5KCSTQ 210K miles with a slight blemish but still beautiful
to me!
