Exhaust

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but my exhaust down pipe has
about a 1/2 inch dint in it, just on the corner before it runs in
parallel with the underside of the car.
I was told that it would make little difference to engine performance,
but after reading up on turbo's, and discovering that they are
susceptible to any kind of back pressure from the exhaust system, Im
begining to wonder if that is what is killing the top end performance of
the engine.
Basically the engine runs fine, pulls well etc etc, but if you hold down
full throttle for any kind of time you can feel the engine slightly back
off after a short period. Im not too worried about it, but I would like
to know if this is likely to cause the above?

I plan on getting a stainless system (with one box ;-) as soon as I sell
my motorbike anyway.
