I agree Jon....BTW, we have raced several cars and ONLY one blew a
clutch and that's because I did not have a decent pitlane gear in my
S2000.  If properly done, downshifting gives you more control and
actually saves money in the long run.....

BTW, if you aren't going to use the transmission spiritedly, then buy an
automatic.  Simple.
