Well, I have to weigh in with our Q's home range of beautiful North Idaho.
Tons of snow, *no* salt, and not very many cars on the road. Those that
are on the road know how to drive in it and rarely get in the way. The
only drawback is what they replace the salt with for traction - gravel!
The Colorado types know this well, also. A good year is one where we put
in only one windshield, and headlamp protection is a must. I'll take these
conditions any day....
