Implication being that using the transmission to slow down wears out
clutches - and they're more expensive than the alternative mechanism,
brakes. Moss was not in the habit of breaking cars unnecesarily,
which is one reason he's still alive. I also think of this when I am
full of pi** and vinegar and zooming around. Downshifting just for
the helluvit because it's "driving sporty" is not especially rewarding,
except to my psyche and to the parts store...and the parts store
already gets enough of my $$!
