Re: Need an SCCA tech inspector/exhaust ques

In a message dated 97-02-07 14:53:43 EST, you write:

<< After talking with various people at the Steamboat event, I was
pointed to the SCCA. As their vehicles are street legal by definition, a
SCCA tech inspector could give me a ruling on my exhaust that should
stand up in court. To that end, any one who could point me in that
direction, information would be graciously accepted.
  >>...... Ah the part that you didn't plant on the track, you mean :o)
That would be me that fed you that info.... Give a call to SCCA in
Englewood, Stott, they can give you a listing of all registered tech
inspectors in your area. You might have to becum a member, but a small fine
to pay in comparo... I remember, when I did the scirocco, the test was a
given rpm and the meter at a specific distance from the exhaust. Since SCCA
ProRally runs transients on open public roads, the GCR's for that should be
"legal".... Regardless, a written standard by which the officer wrote your
ticket should be easily referenced... Good luck...
