Hot air in gas?

Gasoline, that is. Is the gas you're getting really, like, as it
is advertised? Is 1 gallon (or whatever you measure) is really 1 gallon?
How about that pricey high-octane stuff?

I was just pleasantly surprised (yeah, right) about the situation in
Nebraska (aye, where I live). We have no one to check the claimed octane.
Although we have "occasional" volume check by Department of Agriculture.

The news report added that if the state does not have program to check the
octane level, it will become federal gov't's job to do it -- except there
are so few federal agents that the chance of one gas station could get a
suprise visit (here in NE) is once in several years. How nice.

Hope you people are in better place than I am. )^: The state, noting how
well that "1-week tax free" in NY got consumer going through the stores,
decided we should have the food taxed as well (average of $150 per person
annually!!). Bunch of politicians!!!! What kinda boneheads voted 'em into
office? I certainly did not!!

(Now back to the regular feature runs of oh-me-gosh-my-Audi-wouldn't-
start... (^; )
