Re: Headlight lens crack

Headlight Lens Crack

>>About the only way to stop a crack from contuing is to stop-drill it
at the end of the crack. This means drilling a hole at the end of
the crack, which distributes the strain in a circle (the hole) and
sometimes stops it from spreading.

That might work if the lens is made of plastic. Glass, by definition is a
liguid, and has no grain or fibre to its structure, so that technique will
not work in that medium. Glass lenses can be repaired however. They need to
be removed for the process to work, as it does involve gravity, and
positioning of the lens itself. If you let me know where you are, I might be
able to help find someone to repair it for you, provided the lens replacement
cost would justify such.
